Stop And Surrender shall have a full-time Project Director for every eight full-time counselors or counselor assistants, or both. It is the policy of Stop And Surrender that a full-time Clinical Supervisor may carry a minimal caseload for the sole purpose of maintaining his/her clinical skills, however, the caseload should be no more than 5 clients.

Stop And Surrender Recovery Center is a state-of-the-art substance abuse recovery facility in Philadelphia. Stop And Surrender combines caring, compassionate care with evidence-based techniques. The ultimate goal, of course, is better client outcomes. Saving lives is why we're in this business, and Stop And Surrender Recovery Center's programs are structured with this priority in mind. In addition to traditional substance abuse care, our DUI and Problem Gambling programs give clients the tools they need for a stronger recovery.
Our Treatment Philosophy
We believe in the use of the community as the primary method to bring about needed social and psychological change in the individual. On a daily basis our entire community comes together to deal with issues or solve problems that affect every member and the community as a whole. The focus of these meetings is motivation, communication, and routine problem solving activities.
We understand that each client we work with has their own unique nature and needs. That's why we consider a wide variety of therapeutic strategies when formulating an individual's treatment plan. No two people are alike, and therefore our clients are not subjected to generic or cookie-cutter (not to mention ineffective) treatment plans. Using various combinations of therapeutic interventions has always proven to be the most effective strategy when treating an individual.
The program emphasizes the integration of an individual within the treatment process, and the progress is measured within the context of the group against the group's expectations. It is the group and individual process along with the client that produces positive change. The tension and learning experiences created between the individual and the group members eventually resolves in favor of the individual and this transition is taken as an important measure of readiness to move towards re-integration into the workplace and the larger society.
